Job Summary:

The Skilled Laborer- Bridge is a key member of our construction team, responsible for the fabrication, installation, and repair of concrete structures and structural members used in and on bridges. This role requires a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a thorough knowledge of construction materials, tools, equipment, and methods.

Key Responsibilities:

• Builds forms used in bridge and other construction for pouring concrete
• Molds expansion joints and edges, using edging tools, jointers, and straight edge
• Seals concrete and wooden bridges
• Mixes and pours cement and mortar using hoe or concrete mixing machine
• Levels, smooths, and finishes surfaces of poured concrete using hand tools or power tools, including floats, trowels, and screeds
• Tightens structural steel bolts with impact wrench
• Removes existing structural steel with oxygen and acetylene torch
• Drills holes in existing or new structural steel with magnetic drill
• Assembles and disassembles all temporary structures and forms
• Digs trenches, removes filling, and/or compacts earth with use of shovels and rakes
• Loads and unloads materials and supplies

Requirements:

• Minimum five (5) years of experience working with bridges on heavy highway construction projects
• Must be able to work effectively at heights
• Must have good communication skills
• Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction materials, tools, equipment, and methods
• Must have a strong work ethic
• Valid driver's license, preferred
• Focus on safety of self and co-workers at all times
• COVID-19 vaccination is highly recommended
• Must be able to successfully pass a background and drug screening
