Cement Mason Job Description

At Fort Myer Construction Corporation, we are seeking a skilled Cement Mason to join our team. As a Cement Mason, you will be responsible for preparing the job site to receive concrete by arranging forms, spreading, leveling, and smoothing the concrete. You will also be responsible for mixing, compacting, and finishing the concrete for buildings, roads, tunnels, and bridges.

Key Responsibilities:
• Mix and apply concrete to specifications
• Spread and finish concrete to achieve a smooth surface
• Use power tools and equipment to cut and drill holes for reinforcing rods
• Position and align forms to hold concrete in place
• Check forms to ensure they are properly constructed
• Cut out damaged areas and repair concrete as needed
• Physically move materials and equipment

Requirements:
• 3+ years of experience as a Cement Mason
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of concrete characteristics and behavior
• Ability to determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job
• High school diploma or equivalent desired
• Must be able to lift, pull, and push a minimum of 50 lbs.

Working Conditions:
This job may require working extended hours, including evenings, nights, and weekends. You must be able to stand for extended periods and work in varying temperatures, humidity, wind, or other extreme inclement weather conditions. You will also be exposed to loud and/or constant noise and moving equipment.
