Position Title: Senior Cybersecurity Operations Specialist

Job Type: Full-time

Overview:

The Senior Cybersecurity Operations Specialist is tasked with maintaining the optimal security posture for information systems. This role involves close collaboration with the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) and Information Security Officer (ISO) to ensure robust security measures are in place.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the ISSM in fulfilling their responsibilities.
  • Prepare, review, and enhance security authorization packages.
  • Implement and oversee procedures for the sanitization and destruction of hardware and media.
  • Alert the ISSM regarding any changes that may impact the security authorization of information systems.
  • Conduct regular assessments of information systems to verify compliance with security protocols.
  • Coordinate modifications to hardware, software, or firmware with the ISSM and Authorizing Official (AO) prior to implementation.
  • Monitor recovery processes to ensure security features are restored and operational.
  • Maintain current and accessible security documentation for authorized personnel.
  • Collect, review, and document audit records, including any discrepancies.
  • Participate in necessary technical and security training relevant to assigned duties.
  • Execute cybersecurity self-inspections and review system assessment plans.
  • Identify cybersecurity vulnerabilities and assist in implementing countermeasures.
  • Prepare reports detailing the status of security measures applied to computer systems.
  • Perform ISSO duties to support both internal and external clients.
  • Conduct ongoing monitoring activities for security authorization boundaries.
  • Assist Department of Defense and associated organizations with assessment and authorization efforts.

Qualifications:

Experience: 5 - 7 years in related fields, with prior roles as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or ISSO.

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (4 years).

Certifications: Must fulfill position and certification requirements as outlined in DoD Directive M for Information Assurance Technician Level II or Information Assurance Manager II within 6 months of hire.

Security Clearance: Current Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility and eligibility for access to Special Access Program Information.

Additional Requirements: Must be capable of regularly lifting up to 50 lbs.
