Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Produce Merchandiser and Inventory Specialist to join our team at Whole Foods Market. As a key member of our produce department, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality products are presented in an attractive and appealing manner, while also maintaining accurate inventory levels and controlling costs.

Responsibilities
  • Purchase and replenish produce through effective buying procedures to meet sales targets and minimize waste.
  • Monitor and act upon open purchase order reports to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products.
  • Control spoilage and shrink by implementing effective inventory management practices and achieving turn goals.
  • Complete spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required to maintain compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Maximize sales potential by effectively merchandising products and adhering to visual standards.
  • Oversee customer special orders and analyze product transfers, waste, and spoilage to optimize inventory management.
  • Support leadership in conducting inventories and maintaining financial profitability by meeting and exceeding purchasing and sales targets.
Requirements
  • 12+ months retail experience, preferably in produce or grocery.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lift 50 pounds and stand/walk for long periods.
  • Basic math skills and proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is $18.50-$30.20 per hour, commensurate with experience. Whole Foods Market offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan benefits, store discount, paid time off, and access to other benefit programs.
