Join Whole Foods Market, a leading provider of natural and organic products, as a skilled Meat Cutter Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and merchandising meat products to meet our high standards of quality.

About the Job
  • Cut, platter, and merchandise various types of meat products, including beef, pork, lamb, veal, and poultry.
  • Prepare specialty meat items such as sausage, oven-ready products, and cured meats.
  • Evaluate products to ensure they meet our quality standards.
  • Maintain a sampling program and monitor product spoilage.
  • Mentor and support assigned Meat Cutter Trainees.
  • Arrive on time, appropriately groomed and dressed, and work all scheduled shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Responsibilities
  1. Maximize sales potential through effective procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.
  2. Follow established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
  3. Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment, adhering to WFM cleanliness and safety standards.
  4. Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned, ensuring accuracy of signs and pricing.
  5. Immediately report any safety hazards or violations.
Requirements
  • Absorbent knowledge of meat team processes and procedures.
  • Excellent cutting skills with the ability to break down product into sub-primal and retail cuts.
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to deliver information in a clear and respectful manner to fellow Team Members, customers, and vendors.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand/walk for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
  • Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals and temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Use tools and equipment, including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
