Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and execute programs, policies, and procedures aimed at safeguarding staff from workplace hazards.
  • Conduct regular assessments of facilities to identify potential and existing safety risks.
  • Lead investigations into workplace safety incidents and provide comprehensive reports with recommendations for improvement.
  • Create and deliver training materials to educate staff on recognizing and mitigating workplace hazards.
  • Offer technical support to management and relevant parties regarding occupational health matters.
  • Stay informed on scientific research and applicable regulations related to workplace safety, integrating findings into organizational policies.
  • Participate in or lead internal and external committees focused on workplace safety initiatives.
  • Maintain correspondence with regulatory bodies to uphold necessary licenses and certifications.

Complexity of Work:
This role requires strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment. The ability to manage stress effectively is essential.

Personal Protective Equipment:
Adhere to Standard Precautions by utilizing personal protective equipment as necessary.

Qualifications:
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
  • Preferred Credentials: Hazardous Materials Professional, Safety Professional

Education:
  • Minimum Qualification: Bachelor's Degree.
  • High School diploma with 2 years of relevant experience OR Associate's/Bachelor's degree with 1 year of experience OR 5 years of relevant job-specific experience required.
  • 2 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
