Job Title: Clinical Equipment Specialist

Join the University of Maryland Medical System as a Clinical Equipment Specialist and play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of medical equipment across our facilities.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to perform maintenance and repairs on a wide range of medical equipment. As a Clinical Equipment Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment is functioning properly and safely, and that any issues are addressed promptly.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on medical equipment, including visual and mechanical inspections, safety testing, and performance testing.
  2. Document all maintenance activities accurately and neatly, and ensure that all work is completed in a timely manner.
  3. Respond to requests for service from equipment users, and troubleshoot issues to component level whenever feasible.
  4. Perform repairs and maintenance on medical equipment using proper work methods and procedures, and confirm operation of repaired equipment.
  5. Oversee warranty repairs and contracted services by outside service representatives, and request service parts as needed.
  6. Complete necessary paperwork completely and neatly, and ensure that all documentation is up-to-date.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. An Associate's degree or equivalent in electronics technology or biomedical engineering, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in repair and maintenance of electronic instrumentation, with a focus on medical equipment.
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with all levels of hospital staff.
  4. Knowledge of applicable trade areas, and the ability to troubleshoot issues to component level.
  5. Computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs.
