Job Description

**About the Role**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Product Development Engineer to join our team at ITW Medical. As a key member of our Engineering group, you will be responsible for driving organic growth efforts in our high-growth Business Segments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Development: Lead the development of single-use medical device components, ensuring adherence to established design control processes and good engineering practices.
  • Customer Collaboration: Work closely with customer technical teams to identify and solve problems, driving improvements in current products through innovative problem-solving and product design.
  • Design for Manufacturability: Collaborate with R&D and Operations Teams to ensure design transfer and effective implementation of design for manufacturability principles.
  • Technical Leadership: Conduct FMEA and Risk analysis as part of the design control process, lead the technical process development with internal manufacturing partners, and provide engineering and technical support to production teams.
  • Business Acumen: Translate customer needs and pain points into a value proposition, supported by a strong business case.
  • Team Collaboration: Serve as a lead technical role on project teams, working closely with fellow Engineers, Customers, Sales, and Manufacturing to drive New Product Development.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Plastics, Biomedical) required.
  • A minimum of 8+ years related work experience required.
  • Previous experience with injection molding in a high-volume manufacturing environment required. Experience with high-volume medical device manufacturing strongly preferred.
  • Fluency in 3D CAD (Solidworks preferred).
  • Working understanding of part design layout and GD&T.
  • Understanding of DFMEA & PFMEA methodology and approach.
  • Injection mold tooling design experience preferred.
  • Mold-flow analysis experience is a plus.
  • Ability to train and coach others from technical expertise.
  • Self-directed with creative problem-solving ability.
