Role Responsibilities

The Certified Respiratory Care Specialist will coordinate and provide high-quality, patient-centered respiratory services in alignment with departmental needs and professional standards. As a crucial member of the healthcare team, you will perform various diagnostic evaluations and therapeutic interventions while monitoring patients on both invasive and non-invasive ventilation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including evaluating breath sounds and airway integrity.
  • Administer respiratory therapies, such as oxygen and aerosol treatments.
  • Assist in the placement of artificial airways and manage mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitor patient responses to therapy and communicate with providers regarding any concerns.
  • Facilitate the safe transportation of patients requiring ventilatory support.
  • Respond effectively to emergency situations, ensuring airway management and ventilation.
Qualifications
  • Associate Degree or completion of a vocational program.
  • State certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within 90 days of hire.
  • Neonate Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required within 90 days of hire.
