Position Title:

CH-53K Developmental Test Pilot

KBR is in search of a CH-53K Developmental Test Pilot to enhance our capabilities.

As part of KBR, you will contribute to a premier independent flight testing organization that serves both governmental and commercial sectors. You will collaborate with a highly skilled and seasoned aircrew services team that has delivered over four decades of aircrew project support. Your role will involve working within the NAVAIR test community, which includes government, military, contractor, and industry professionals, all while engaging in flight testing activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • This role supports the HX-21 Developmental Test and Evaluation at the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division.
  • The candidate must fulfill the responsibilities of a CH-53K developmental test pilot and project officer.
  • The selected individual will assist in various NAWCAD test and evaluation tasks, including planning meetings, developing test plans, organizing events, creating test procedures, conducting flight briefings, executing tests, providing post-event support, and preparing test reports and deficiency documentation.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Completion of a full-length rotary wing pilot training program from an accredited test pilot school is mandatory.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience is required.
  • At least three (3) years of rotary wing research, development, test, and evaluation (RDT&E) flight experience is essential. Previous qualifications on H-53 aircraft and experience in heavy lift missions are preferred.
  • A minimum of 1,500 total flight hours and 1,000 hours as pilot-in-command in rotary wing aircraft are necessary. A minimum of 2,000 hours and current or previous qualification in H-53 aircraft is highly desirable.
  • Current aircraft qualifications and recent experience with rotary wing test and evaluation techniques, concepts, and practices are preferred.
  • The candidate must meet physical and training qualifications to provide contract aircrew support, including completion of Navy water survival and aviation physiology training, along with an annual FAA Class II flight physical.
  • Extensive travel may be required for this position.
  • A current Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one is necessary for employment. Candidates must be able to secure and maintain a Top-Secret level security clearance.
  • Selected applicants may undergo a government security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information.
  • Current or recent flying status is preferred.
