Position Overview

AVIAN is seeking a Platform Coordination Specialist to assist in the Test & Evaluation Management for Programs and Operations contract. The successful candidate will deliver expertise in configuration management, maintenance, and program analysis to the 53K test team as they transition four of their EDM aircraft from Sikorsky to government ownership and operation. This role involves preparing two aircraft for decommissioning and managing two others through significant modifications and instrumentation efforts in support of planned operational test and evaluation events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Timely completion of Aircraft Modification Requests (AMR) once all necessary data is provided and deemed sufficient, utilizing the Naval Aviation Project Activity Support System (NAVPASS).
  • Maintain configuration control for all non-standard project installations and configuration changes on assigned aircraft.
  • Adhere to AMR processes to track, collect, and document all configuration change data as a permanent aircraft record in accordance with applicable NAVAIR and NAVTESTWINGLANT instructions.
  • Perform tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in the relevant engineering domain.
  • Possess familiarity with Aircraft Modification Requests.
  • Document all tools required for project work in accordance with local Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Apply engineering expertise to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, and resource management.
  • Understand the Navy's NALCOMIS process.
  • Exhibit knowledge of configuration management and the Naval Aviation Project Activity Support System (NAVPASS).
  • Manage resource scheduling and tracking.
  • Coordinate platform activities.
  • Oversee short and long-range planning for specific configuration changes.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of three (3) to ten (10) years of experience in an engineering role, with at least three (3) years directly related to Naval systems. A Bachelor's Degree may substitute for four years of experience, and a Master's Degree may substitute for an additional two years.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the relevant engineering field.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements.
