Executive Sous Chef

This role supports the Executive Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring a safe and sanitary work environment for staff. Responsibilities include preparing or directing meal preparation in accordance with corporate programs and guidelines.
This position is based in GAINESVILLE, FL, with a 5-day work week, alternating weekends, and relocation assistance for those outside a 50-mile radius. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan, flexible time off, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Executive Chef in maintaining sanitation, safety, and production requirements
- Motivate and train back-of-house employees to achieve operation objectives
- Ensure high-quality food items are prepared and presented in a cost-effective manner
- Support cost controls and expenditure management
- Roll out new culinary programs with marketing and culinary teams
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- B.S. in Culinary Arts or related field; or A.O.S. in Culinary Arts with additional training
- 3-5 years of relevant culinary experience
- Mastery of various kitchen positions and stations
- Ability to think on feet and create, produce, and serve food quickly
- Knowledge of food cost and quality identification
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills
- Applied food service sanitation certification, SERVSAFE, and/or HACCP federal guideline certification
- Demonstrated understanding of current culinary market trends and creative food presentation
