Job Summary

Sea Mar Community Health Centers is seeking a qualified Group Life Counselor I, II or III to join our Behavioral Health Department. As a member of our treatment team, you will provide direct services to patients in a residential setting, including group care, intake procedures, evaluation, individual and group counseling, milieu management, and supervision of patients.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of chemical dependency and mental health issues, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, or a related field is required, and experience working with high-risk youth or adults is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct services to patients in a residential setting, including group care, intake procedures, evaluation, individual and group counseling, milieu management, and supervision of patients.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the treatment team.
  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions, as well as milieu management and supervision of patients.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings to discuss patient progress and develop treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient progress and treatment plans.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, or a related field.
  • Experience working with high-risk youth or adults preferred.
  • Strong understanding of chemical dependency and mental health issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
