Position Summary
We are looking for a Principal Engineer to enhance our engineering team. This pivotal role is responsible for the advancement of engineering principles, theories, and concepts within our group. As a leader, you will mentor fellow engineers, fostering their professional growth.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all stages of technical projects, including research, development, and design.
- Ensure product design quality focusing on usability, reliability, functionality, marketability, and manufacturability.
- Analyze engineering designs for mechanical and control systems, recommending design or testing methods to achieve specified operational reliability.
- Lead product design verification and validation processes to meet product and customer requirements.
- Support product development through knowledge of best engineering practices, considering product design criteria and customer needs.
- Collaborate as a team member on development projects, executing assigned responsibilities in a timely and professional manner.
- Review engineering specifications and drawings, suggesting design modifications to enhance cost-effectiveness and performance.
- Draft failure mode and effect analysis sheets or create mathematical models using computer-aided engineering tools to identify potential failure risks and support design changes.
- Provide expert guidance to other engineers, assisting them in making informed decisions.
- Apply Design to Cost and Design for Manufacturability principles, working closely with the manufacturing team to transition products to production.
- Document data and unique, patentable ideas resulting from experimentation and concept generation activities to support the organization's intellectual property strategy.
- Communicate plans, drive improvements, and negotiate with key stakeholders regarding budgets and pricing to deliver value to our customers.
- Offer technical support to other departments.

Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
- 8-10 years of engineering experience; experience in the food industry is advantageous.
- Proven ability to define problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Demonstrated capability to develop repeatable processes or enhance existing products or processes.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional projects and meet deliverables.
- Excellent analytical skills, including knowledge of mathematical and statistical principles.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across the organization.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Working Conditions
This full-time role operates in a professional office environment, with routine use of standard office equipment. While performing job duties, the employee may work indoors and occasionally on the factory floor, which can be noisy. Regular contact with moving mechanical parts and exposure to various conditions may occur.

Physical Demands
Occasional requirements include standing, walking, using hands to handle or operate objects, and reaching with hands and arms. The employee may also need to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, with the ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Periodic travel may be necessary.
