Job Summary

John Wood Community College is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Office and Data Entry Assistant to provide administrative and data entry support to the Office of Support Services. The ideal candidate will possess strong computer skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Accurately input, update, and maintain records in various databases and systems, ensuring all information is current and correct.
Assist with filing, photocopying, and organizing documents. Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails and letters.
Serve as the first point of contact for students, faculty, and staff visiting the Office of Support Services, answering questions and directing inquiries to the appropriate personnel.
Help in coordinating meetings, appointments, and events for the department, including reserving rooms and preparing materials.
Draft and edit documents, reports, and spreadsheets as needed.
Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information, ensuring compliance with college policies.
Assist with inventory management, order office supplies, and maintain an organized workspace.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree in Office Technology or Computer Management System, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
Previous experience in an office environment, particularly with data entry, is preferred.
Knowledge with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and database management is required.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Customer service-oriented with a professional and friendly demeanor.
Discretion and the ability to handle confidential information.
