Job Overview

The Quality Assurance Specialist II plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and compliance of products or services within Silfab Solar. This position demands a higher level of expertise compared to a Quality Assurance Specialist I, focusing on advanced quality control and assurance methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting inspections of product samples utilizing industry-standard techniques.
  • Ensuring that the production or assembly line meets established standards and adheres to regulatory requirements.
  • Analyzing blueprints and specifications to ensure alignment with manufactured goods.
  • Documenting inspection outcomes by completing reports, summarizing rework and waste, and entering data into the quality management system.
  • Educating the production team on quality control practices to enhance product quality.
  • Recommending enhancements to the manufacturing process.
  • Overseeing equipment usage to guarantee safety and removing any that fail to meet standards.
  • Interpreting engineering drawings and radiographs accurately.
  • Performing tests at various stages throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Gathering and analyzing statistical quality data.
  • Assisting in the formulation of testing methods and inspection protocols.
  • Identifying root causes of product defects and scrap materials.
  • Ensuring all equipment is properly calibrated.
  • Executing quality checks in accordance with Work Instructions (WIs) for raw materials, semi-finished, and finished products.
  • Proposing enhancements to WIs to minimize scrap and improve the final product's performance.
  • Enhancing the capability for thorough analysis and process improvement.
  • Providing ongoing support to production staff regarding WIs, quality, and process challenges in collaboration with management.
  • Generating statistical analyses and reports on the quality of raw materials and finished products as needed.
  • Utilizing and maintaining measurement instruments in accordance with WIs and safety protocols.
  • Monitoring and recommending improvements to management regarding production recipes for various process stages.
  • Auditing operations and suggesting enhancements to quality control tools utilized in the production line.
  • Delivering regular reports to management.

Qualifications

  • Ability to operate independently with minimal oversight while recognizing when to seek assistance.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office and Excel, as well as statistical software.
  • Strong understanding of problem-solving methodologies.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team setting.
  • Capability to work autonomously and collaboratively.

Education and Experience

  • Experience in a technical role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience in photovoltaic module manufacturing is preferred.
