GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE


The MAC Beauty Specialist plays a crucial role in driving sales for the MAC brand, which encompasses color cosmetics, skincare, and fragrance. This position involves engaging with customers to understand their unique needs, assisting them in selecting and purchasing products, and ensuring the store maintains high standards of cleanliness and organization.

As a representative of Ulta Beauty and the MAC brand, you will support the Experience Manager by focusing on performance metrics, fostering a positive guest experience, and adhering to operational standards.

This role requires advanced makeup artistry skills, exceptional customer service abilities, and a willingness to learn and share product knowledge.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Performance


Achieve or surpass sales and service targets for the MAC brand while contributing to the overall store objectives related to retail sales and customer loyalty.


Develop and nurture strong relationships with customers by maintaining contact with a growing clientele and following up on inquiries.


Ensure each customer receives outstanding service by greeting them warmly, personalizing their experience, offering samples, and suggesting complementary products.


Conduct professional makeup demonstrations and lessons, skincare consultations, and product showcases in line with MAC and Ulta Beauty standards.


Stay informed about promotions and marketing initiatives within the brand and across all store departments.


Book appointments and assist in executing services and in-store events that enhance the customer experience while achieving sales goals.


Proactively keep up with industry trends and product knowledge to better assist customers.


People


Foster an inclusive environment that supports both team members and customers.


Educate customers about the benefits of the loyalty program and the Ulta Beauty app.


Maintain an active portfolio of clientele for MAC brand sales.


Act as an ambassador for Ulta Beauty and the MAC brand by sharing product knowledge and makeup application techniques.


Participate in ongoing training to enhance professional development and drive MAC brand sales.


Process


Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty's policies and procedures.


Adhere to the brand's dress code and maintain a professional appearance.


Drive sales by keeping your designated area well-stocked and organized, ensuring hygiene standards are met.


Participate in merchandising resets, inventory procedures, and other operational tasks as directed.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education

High school diploma preferred.

Cosmetology or demonstrator license as required by state law.

Experience

Prior experience in cosmetics artistry is preferred.

Skills

Strong sales and customer service skills.

Ability to build and maintain customer relationships.

Capable of working independently and collaboratively.

Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Flexible schedule availability, including evenings and weekends.

Participation in brand-sponsored training sessions.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Frequent mobility and standing during shifts.

Ability to lift and move items up to 10 lbs.

Continuous coordination and manipulation of objects.
