Position Overview:

The Banquet Server is responsible for providing exceptional food and beverage service to guests in a friendly, professional, and timely manner. Key responsibilities include:

  • Attending all required pre-event meetings.
  • Understanding and interpreting the Banquet Event Order (BEO), including room layouts.
  • Gathering and coordinating all necessary equipment for banquet events.
  • Adhering to service standards to ensure safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Addressing all guest needs during events and related duties.
  • Reporting any maintenance or housekeeping needs to the Banquet Captain or Manager.
  • Maintaining regular attendance as per hotel standards.
  • Upholding high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the appropriate uniform and nametag.
  • Following all money handling procedures while serving guests.
  • Preparing the event space according to the BEO and meal functions.
  • Cleaning up the banquet area post-event and ensuring all equipment is properly stored and restocked.
  • Keeping the banquet storeroom organized and stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Responding to guest inquiries, complaints, and incidents, and communicating with management as needed.

Qualifications:

Preferred candidates will have 3 to 6 months of relevant experience in a hospitality environment.

Skills required include:

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence.
  • Effective communication skills in one-on-one and small group settings.
  • Basic math skills for handling transactions.
  • Common sense reasoning to execute simple instructions and manage standardized situations.
