Position Overview:
Veolia Water Milwaukee is seeking a dedicated Wastewater Systems Engineer to support the Conveyance System Supervisors and Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District's wastewater conveyance system.

Key Responsibilities:
The Wastewater Systems Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Planning, organizing, and directing daily operations of personnel involved in wastewater conveyance systems.
  • Monitoring the operation and maintenance of wastewater conveyance facilities and equipment.
  • Preparing long-term work schedules and assigning daily tasks to staff.
  • Ensuring adherence to operational policies and procedures.
  • Coordinating equipment usage and reporting maintenance needs.
  • Maintaining records of construction, operation, and maintenance activities.
  • Assisting in the development of safety programs and conducting training.
  • Engaging with equipment manufacturers regarding wastewater facilities and equipment.
  • Responding to emergency situations as required.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering or a related field is required.
  • A Master's degree in a relevant discipline is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of practical engineering experience in planning, design, and construction.
  • 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in the operation and maintenance of wastewater systems is preferred.

Skills and Competencies:
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is essential. Strong report writing skills and superior interpersonal communication abilities are required. Excellent organizational and time management skills are crucial for success in this role.

Certifications:
A Wisconsin Professional Engineer (PE) license and/or Wisconsin DNR Wastewater Certification is preferred. A valid Wisconsin Driver's License is also required.
