Role Overview

As a Systems Product Engineer, you will play a vital role in system architecture and integration, as well as providing both hardware and software support. You will collaborate closely with a team of engineers, including sales engineers, product engineers, and engineering technicians, to bring innovative compute and storage solutions to various business sectors such as healthcare, security, and rack integration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work alongside the Sales Engineering team to design and specify solutions for both new and existing clients.
  • Develop, troubleshoot, and manage hardware systems.
  • Diagnose and collaborate with customers and vendors on firmware compatibility challenges.
  • Monitor end-of-life notices and engineering change notifications from suppliers, taking necessary actions to ensure seamless production for our clients.
  • Conduct research projects, including evaluations of new components, performance testing, and other assigned tasks.
  • Create and maintain quotes and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Establish and maintain production routes for client solutions.
  • Oversee the introduction of new products for clients.
  • Provide technical support to customers as needed.
  • Offer production support as required.
  • Handle product management responsibilities as assigned.
  • Occasionally lift equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in building and integrating computer systems.
  • At least 2 years of experience with Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • 2 years of experience in creating and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Experience in setting up RAID, configuring IPMI, and performing base OS installations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and listening skills, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with customers, technical teams, and AHEAD staff to successfully deliver projects.
  • Proven ability to understand, gather, and document customer requirements.
  • Experience with engineering discipline and revision control, including Engineering Change Management, Product Lifecycle Management, and end-of-life processes.
  • Attention to detail and excellent documentation capabilities.
  • Understanding of quality control and computer assembly methods.
  • Experience working with external suppliers and manufacturers.
  • In-depth knowledge of computer architectures, server hardware components, and industry standards.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, along with planning, organizing, decision-making, communication, influencing, teamwork, negotiation, conflict management, adaptability, and the ability to perform under pressure.
  • Experience in risk management.
  • Experience with New Product Introduction processes.
  • Certifications such as Network+ and Server+ are advantageous.
