Job Overview:

As a Control Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our laboratory environment. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Improving the existing system and test bed setup within the lab.
  • Replacing hardware and equipment as necessary to ensure optimal performance.
  • Taking ownership of the lab operations, ensuring all systems are fully functional.
  • Configuring Cisco networks and power supplies, including routers and switches using command line tools.
  • Collaborating with firmware, hardware, and embedded engineers to conduct thorough testing.
  • Interpreting and working from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and block drawings while adhering to safety standards.
  • Troubleshooting electrical wiring circuits to identify issues and implement corrective measures.
  • Addressing challenges that may arise due to evolving test requirements.
  • Completing all necessary testing and quality documentation.
  • Being prepared for extended periods of standing and occasional overtime or weekend work.

Qualifications: (2-5 years of relevant experience)

  • Proficient understanding of PLC-based industrial control systems.
  • Familiarity with command line operations and Cisco networking.
  • Experience in configuring hardware components.
  • Ability to wire electrical systems effectively.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Basic software proficiency.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in software testing.
  • Knowledge of using Putty for switch configuration.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics.
  • Familiarity with Visio for lab documentation.
  • General IT networking skills, including router and switch configuration.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering/Technology or equivalent experience.
