Job Overview:

As a Speech Therapist II, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating complex communication disorders. Your role will ensure adherence to established standards and regulatory guidelines while providing oversight to entry-level staff and contributing to community initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducts comprehensive evaluations and administers diagnostic assessments to deliver tailored treatment plans for both adults and children facing various communication challenges, including voice and swallowing disorders, as well as neurological issues. Communicates findings to physicians and caregivers.
  • Collaborates closely with medical professionals to adjust treatment strategies as necessary. Provides mentorship to junior therapists and engages in the creation of in-service training programs for staff development. Oversees the activities of contract therapists and monitors patient care in external facilities. Acts as a consultant within interdisciplinary teams.
  • Formulates, implements, and upholds departmental policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations. Identifies opportunities for cost containment and service enhancement while assisting with community outreach programs.
  • Kaiser Permanente regularly reviews compensation for positions. The organization reserves the right to reassess and modify job descriptions or alter positions from salaried to hourly status, typically after notifying affected employees.
Qualifications:
Experience
  • At least two (2) years of experience as a Speech Therapist.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology.
License, Certification, Registration
  • California Speech-Language Pathologist License
  • National Provider Identifier
  • Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology Certificate
  • Basic Life Support certification required upon hire
Additional Requirements:
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Ability to thrive in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
