ABOUT THE POSITION:
We are looking for a dedicated Steel Production Equipment Specialist to join our team.

This role involves operating steel production equipment and accurately interpreting work orders to meet customer specifications in a timely manner.

This hourly position typically reports to the Warehouse Supervisor or Manager and does not have supervisory duties. The role requires adherence to Triple-S Steel's operational standards and safety protocols. Overtime may be necessary to fulfill customer demands.

This position is within our Slitter department.

Responsibilities:
Consistently follow Triple-S safety protocols and promptly report any hazardous conditions to a supervisor.

Process, cut, and/or shape raw materials according to work orders to satisfy customer needs.


Safely operate and maintain assigned tools and equipment, including but not limited to tape measures, calipers, shears, CNC burning tables, band saws, iron workers, track burners, tube cutters, forklifts, overhead cranes, and personal protective equipment.


Lift and transport up to 50 pounds over distances of up to 20 feet, and exert force frequently to move objects, while also walking, standing, and climbing as necessary while wearing required safety gear.

Maintain spatial awareness to navigate a dynamic work environment safely.

Utilize clear vision to assess distances and stay aware of the activities of fellow employees.

Work in various weather conditions, including rain, heat, cold, and windy conditions. The Steel Production Equipment Specialist will frequently encounter the local climate.

Participate in all mandatory company meetings.

Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:


Ability to accurately read and comprehend work orders and/or receive verbal instructions to determine tasks or material requirements.

Proficiency in basic computer applications.

Demonstrate intermediate mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).

Ability to consistently meet or exceed the productivity standards set by the company.

Ability to effectively organize and plan work activities independently; capable of working both autonomously and collaboratively.

Develop a solid understanding of material and inventory management techniques and procedures.

Maintain ongoing communication with other departments regarding routing, safety, and customer service.

Physical Requirements:
Use hands and fingers for handling, feeling, and communication.

Employee may occasionally need to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.

Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required for this role include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
