Key Responsibilities
The role encompasses a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
- Constructing steel molds for concrete, utilizing hand and power tools, welding techniques, and lifting equipment.
- Creating steel form components through various cutting methods and welding them together according to specifications.
- Providing assistance to other departments, including maintenance, production, and machine operation.
- Performing additional duties as required.
Qualifications
To excel in this position, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill each essential duty effectively. The qualifications outlined below represent the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities required. Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in steel fabrication is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in basic mathematics.
- Ability to read fractions and utilize a tape measure.
- Capability to interpret shop drawings.
- Familiarity with basic hand and power tools and their applications.
- Proficient in Arc & MIG welding techniques, both horizontal and vertical, with the ability to pass certification.
- Skilled in using an oxy/fuel torch for steel cutting.
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with industrial steel tools such as vertical band saws, drill presses, grinders, etc.
- Prior experience using plasma cutters.
- Familiarity with fork trucks and rolling equipment.
- Experience operating overhead bridge cranes.
- Background in maintenance.
