Position Summary:

In the role of a Machine Operator within our steel manufacturing facility, you will play a vital part in the operation and upkeep of machinery responsible for processing steel products. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Operate and oversee various machines used in steel processing, such as roll mills, shears, and cutters.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment to ensure peak performance.
  • Configure machines according to production requirements and make adjustments as necessary to uphold quality.
  • Examine finished products for any defects and confirm they meet established quality benchmarks.
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure working environment.
  • Diagnose and resolve machine-related issues swiftly to reduce downtime.
  • Keep precise production records and report any discrepancies or concerns to management.
  • Work in conjunction with team members to enhance production processes and meet operational objectives.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED is required; technical certification or vocational training in machinery or a related field is preferred.
  • Prior experience as a machine operator in the steel sector or a comparable manufacturing setting is highly valued.
  • Strong mechanical skills with the capability to troubleshoot and repair machinery.
  • Knowledge of steel processing equipment and safety practices.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to adhere to specific instructions.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to perform under pressure in a dynamic environment.
  • Effective communication abilities and the capacity to collaborate effectively within a team.

Compensation:

Hourly wage of $19.02.
