Job Summary

The Assistant Facilities Manager is a key member of the Commonpoint Queens team, responsible for overseeing the maintenance and housekeeping functions of our facilities. This role requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance: Supervise maintenance staff, create schedules and checklists, implement preventive maintenance plans, and perform hands-on repairs and maintenance.
  • Housekeeping/Porter Services: Supervise housekeeping staff, create cleaning checklists, and inventory and order supplies.
  • Administration: Assist in budget preparation, maintain records, purchase supplies and equipment, and coordinate center coverage.
Agency Responsibilities
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Regular supervisory conferences with the Director of Facilities.
  • Annual job performance evaluation by the Director of Facilities.
Requirements
  • High school diploma required; associate's degree preferred.
  • 5-10 years of experience in a not-for-profit organization.
  • Possess outstanding social skills and emotional maturity.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and G-suite.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and positivity in interactions with staff and constituents.
Working Conditions

The Assistant Facilities Manager will be required to work at night or on occasion on weekends. This job description may change based on the needs of the agency.
