Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Maintain cleanliness of building floors through various methods such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming.
  • Collect and dispose of trash and recycling materials.
  • Service, clean, and restock restroom facilities.
  • Polish and maintain furniture and fixtures.
  • Operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers and vacuums.
  • Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaning solutions.
  • Dust and sanitize furniture, walls, and equipment.
  • Prepare cleaning solutions by mixing water with detergents or other cleaning agents.
  • Perform floor maintenance tasks including stripping, sealing, finishing, and polishing.
  • Restore interiors affected by fire, smoke, or water damage using commercial cleaning tools.
  • Change light bulbs and air filters as needed.
  • Assist in moving heavy furniture and equipment.
  • Maintain outdoor areas by mowing lawns and trimming shrubbery.
  • Notify management of any significant repair needs or system malfunctions.
  • Clear snow from walkways and parking areas during winter conditions.
  • Request necessary supplies and equipment for cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  • Set up and dismantle facilities for events such as meetings and banquets.
  • Apply pest control measures to prevent infestations.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Entry-level experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend basic instructions.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Regularly lift and carry up to 10 pounds; frequently lift up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Perform overhead tasks while balancing on a ladder.
  • Bend, kneel, and reach to access difficult areas.
  • Demonstrate trunk strength and flexibility for various tasks.
  • Exhibit manual dexterity for handling cleaning tools and equipment.
  • Possess near vision for detail-oriented tasks.
