Lead Software Applications Engineer

Pay Rate: Up to $76.20/hr
Key Responsibilities:
- The Lead Software Applications Engineer will oversee various business applications related to Financial Accounting, Contracts, Billing, Timesheets, Accounts Payable Invoicing, Payroll, and Supply Chain purchasing.
- Engage with Information Technology colleagues and business stakeholders to clarify application requirements, design, and implementation.
- Implement application development and configuration best practices, including thorough documentation and change management processes.
- Collaborate closely with Business and Quality Assurance Analysts to develop test plans and ensure that issues are accurately identified, resolved, and validated.
- Conduct complex data analysis and provide data queries or data modification solutions as per internal business requests.
- Offer ongoing support for weekly, monthly, and annual financial business system processes and operations.
- Diagnose data issues within integrated software packages and internally developed applications.
- Work in conjunction with ITS infrastructure support teams and software vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Provide on-call support for Financial Business Systems on a rotational basis.
- Encourage a professional, positive, and productive work atmosphere.
- Mentor team members to enhance their technical and professional capabilities.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units, and the organization. Interact appropriately with others to foster a positive and productive work environment.
- Execute other duties as necessary.
- This role necessitates regular in-person engagement by working on-site three or more days each week in the primary work location.
- Travel and local commutes between company campuses and other potential non-company locations may be required.
- Work is conducted in an office environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related technical field, along with 8 or more years of relevant experience.
- Each higher-level related degree, such as a Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of related experience. Relevant technical experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Degree must be from an accredited institution recognized by the US Secretary of Education.
- Proficiency in Java, application interface/integration with XML web services, and advanced Oracle PL/SQL skills.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of effective communication with all levels of management.
- Able to work with minimal direct supervision.
- Experience in government aerospace accounting.
- Business Process Analyst experience in defining requirements for solution development.
- Development skills using Oracle PL/SQL and Java.
- Ability to create customized solutions within vendor framework tools; familiarity with DelTek Extensibility Designer.
- Experience supporting business software systems, particularly ERP financial systems.
- Financial Accounting application experience; knowledge of Deltek Costpoint.
- Understanding of business data related to cash flow, invoicing, payroll, and project cost collection.
- Proficiency in MS Office products, including Excel and Pivot tables for data validation.
- Hybrid work model.
- US Citizenship is required.
