Caterpillar Inc. is in search of an Engineering Software Lead to guide a team in the design, development, testing, and deployment of software systems and applications.

Key Responsibilities:
- Direct a team in the creation and enhancement of software solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Supervise and mentor junior developers, conducting code evaluations and fostering professional growth.
- Lead a group of skilled software and database experts in projects aimed at delivering innovative business and technical solutions.
- Oversee teams focused on data architecture, quality, governance, and management to develop top-tier software data solutions.
- Responsible for recruiting, managing, and mentoring database engineers to achieve departmental goals.
- Empower the team to tackle complex challenges, providing solutions that align with the overarching objectives of CAT Digital.
- Implement standardized operating procedures to enhance process functionality and establish the necessary infrastructure for efficient service delivery.
- Guide the deployment of hardware and software components to optimize processes and minimize costs through effective infrastructure management.
- Assess challenges thoroughly and contribute to identifying multiple potential solutions before selecting the most viable option.
- Adhere to established policies and guidelines to ensure project goals are met and desired outcomes are achieved.
- Influence key quality metrics, including customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Manage personnel matters and performance assessments of team members, ensuring overall employee satisfaction within the division.

Telecommuting:
2 days/week

Compensation:
$205,982.00 annually.

Qualifications:
 A Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline, along with ten (10) years of experience in Software Development or a related field.

Additionally, candidates must possess experience in:
(1) 7 years of experience in designing and developing database applications using technologies such as AWS Aurora, MySQL, Snowflake, SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres, MongoDB; (2) Familiarity with message brokers like Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS SQS, AWS SNS, Apache ActiveMQ, Kinesis; (3) Experience with data stores such as DynamoDB, Cassandra, Redis, Elasticsearch; (4) Data operations including data pipelines, Snow pipe, and SnapLogic; and (5) Financial operations related to AWS cost management and database resource management.
