Job Summary

Ascension Sacred Heart is seeking a skilled RN Department Manager to oversee the daily operations of our nursing department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing leadership and be able to effectively manage a team of healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of nursing staff in one or more specialty areas.
  • Assess patient care needs and ensure that appropriate care is provided.
  • Deliver quality patient care and implement clinical objectives.
  • Delegate duties to clinical staff based on their skills and abilities.
  • Collaborate with department leadership to ensure processes are up to date and followed.
  • Participate in quality initiatives and develop plans for improvement.
  • Conduct hiring, training, directing, development, and evaluation of staff.

Requirements

  • Required professional licensure/certification and 1 year of cumulative job-specific experience.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date.
