Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Service Representative Level 2 to join our team at Change Healthcare. As a key member of our healthcare operations team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the timely receipt of claims payments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate with patients and insurance companies to collect and manage accounts receivable
  • Ensure the timely receipt of claims payments and minimize bad debt accrual
  • Provide outstanding customer service and collections activities through efficient, effective communication and resolution of outstanding accounts receivable balances
  • Work with patients and insurance companies to resolve billing discrepancies and answer questions or inquiries efficiently
  • Adhere to HIPAA, PCI, and Change Healthcare policies and procedures
  • Handle escalation calls/accounts as necessary and appropriately de-escalate calls to ensure patient/client satisfaction
  • Perform tasks conscientiously and thoroughly while adhering to established goals and objectives
  • Responsible for updating patient demographics and insurance information
  • Responsible for working correspondence, edits, and aged account receivable and identifying problem accounts to CHC leadership
  • Responsible for resolving and/or appealing denials and rejections
  • Assist other representatives with client and/or procedural related questions
  • Meet productivity and accuracy standards as established by management

Requirements

  • 1+ years of medical revenue cycle experience
  • Experience with patient information/claims system reimbursement processes
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of healthcare billing and collection practices and methodologies in an automated environment
  • Knowledge of healthcare billing and/or collections practices
  • Working knowledge of insurances and general reimbursement types: PPO, HMO, Indemnity, Medicare, Medicaid, Workers Compensation
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Good math skills, ability to read, understand, and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Basic computer skills (Internet Explorer, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel)

Working Conditions

This role requires working in a fast-paced environment and may require working until 9pm Eastern time. Various flexible schedules are available, including 4x10 schedules, split shifts, and 2nd shifts.
