Safety Programs Administrator

This role is pivotal in overseeing and managing the organization's Safety initiatives in alignment with federal and local regulations. The primary objective is to avert, reduce, and rectify accidents and injuries while addressing safety challenges that impact the corporation.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline along with industry-recognized certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CHST (Certified Health & Safety Technician), or CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) are highly desirable.
- A minimum of 5 years of safety experience in the Heavy Construction sector.
- Comprehensive understanding of relevant government regulations, safety compliance, and industrial hygiene.
- Strong business insight, analytical capabilities, and strategic thinking skills.
- Proficient in organizational behavior, communication, team collaboration, and the ability to positively influence others.
- Knowledge of electrical safety practices.
- Self-motivated and proactive.
- OSHA Outreach Trainer for the Construction Industry, CHST, and/or Certified Safety Professional certification.
- Team-oriented and driven professional.
- Familiarity with ISO 45001 & 14001 standards.
- Develop, implement, and oversee all safety, accident prevention, and fire safety programs for significant projects.
- Supervise the activities of other Safety Managers and personnel.
- Assess needs and establish specifications for protective safety equipment and materials.
- Conduct surveillance, inspections, and control of hazardous working conditions or unsafe employee behaviors.
- Ensure that all necessary records and reports are complete, accurate, and submitted according to established protocols.
- Maintain a Safety and Health Program that meets or exceeds corporate standards.
- Formulate, communicate, enforce, and identify opportunities for enhancements in the Project Safety Program.
- Coordinate and facilitate all Pre-Construction Safety Planning Meetings with subcontractors, serving as a resource for compliance with federal and state safety regulations.
- Manage all administrative tasks related to project-specific safety documentation, including OSHA record-keeping and management reports.
- Review and approve all subcontractors' Site-Specific Safety Programs and Job Hazard Analyses prior to mobilization.
- Conduct regular site evaluations and track corrections to identified deficiencies.
- Participate in superintendent meetings and oversee Tool Box Talks to ensure proper documentation and quality.
- Execute root cause analysis and accident investigation techniques in the event of job site incidents, collaborating closely with local and Risk Management.
- Enforce documentation of employee training related to their job functions.
- Conduct in-house training on various health and safety topics.
- Assist with OSHA inspections, compliance reviews, and audits from insurance providers and other regulatory agencies.
- Collaborate with senior management and project teams to ensure adherence to SH&E compliance.
- Implement SH&E programs and conduct training sessions.
- Manage risk and claims effectively.
