Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Dental Care Specialist to join our team at MASC Medical in Asheville, NC.

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year

This is an above-market salary opportunity for the right candidate.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Ensure patients feel comfortable during their examination by creating a relaxed atmosphere and explaining procedures clearly.
  • Sterilize dental instruments properly to maintain high standards of hygiene and patient safety.
  • Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history to identify potential issues.
  • Identify conditions such as gingivitis, caries, or periodontitis and recommend appropriate treatments.
  • Clean and protect patients' teeth by removing plaque and applying fluoride as needed.
  • Educate patients of all ages on proper teeth care techniques, including demonstrations of good brushing habits.
  • Provide instructions to patients after operations or other dental procedures to ensure a smooth recovery.
  • Take X-rays or dental impressions as required for accurate diagnoses.
  • Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases, including oral cancer.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and charts on each patient to track progress and treatment plans.
  • Monitor supplies to ensure efficient use and order replacements as needed.
Requirements:
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession, including HIPAA guidelines.
  • Diploma in Dental Hygiene from an accredited institution.
