Position Overview

The Inventory Control Associate plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of inventory management within the store. This position is responsible for implementing and overseeing inventory best practices and standard operating procedures across all departments, including retail and pharmacy operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inventory Management: Execute and monitor inventory processes, including receiving, counting, ordering, and returns. Ensure optimal On-Shelf Availability by validating planogram accuracy.
  • Reporting and Systems: Review and coordinate the effective use of reports and inventory systems to maintain accurate on-hand balances and pricing.
  • Asset Protection: Implement asset protection techniques and manage claims for discrepancies in inventory, including shortages and damaged goods.
  • Store Operations: In the absence of management, open and close the store, ensuring all systems are operational and the store is prepared for business.
Customer Engagement
  • Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers and assisting with inquiries. Resolve customer issues to enhance their shopping experience.
  • Promote customer service excellence among team members, modeling best practices in customer interactions.
Operational Duties
  • Coach team members on inventory management processes, including order creation and receipt.
  • Accurately scan deliveries upon arrival and address any discrepancies with vendors.
  • Verify pharmacy shipments and ensure accurate postings of all orders.
  • Oversee the end-to-end On-Shelf Availability process, including disposals and vendor returns.
  • Conduct pharmacy inventory activities, including recalls and returns, under the supervision of the pharmacist.
  • Manage pricing activities, ensuring accurate signage and compliance with regulatory pricing tasks.
  • Support ordering processes and maintain consigned inventory as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
  • Assist in preparing for physical inventory and maintain organized inventory records.
  • Keep counters and shelves clean and well-stocked.
  • Support package delivery activities and manage point-of-sale transactions accurately.
  • Adhere to company policies and foster respectful relationships with colleagues.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned.
Training and Development
  • Participate in ongoing training programs and complete required e-learning modules.
  • Maintain valid pharmacy certification as mandated by state regulations.
Communication Skills
  • Act as a liaison between management and team members, facilitating effective communication and task delegation.
Qualifications
  • Minimum one year of retail experience.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules, including evenings and weekends.
  • Strong attention to detail and multitasking abilities.
  • Experience in identifying and resolving operational challenges.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous roles as a shift lead, pharmacy technician, or customer service associate are advantageous.
  • Prior experience with Walgreens is preferred.
