Job Summary

We are seeking an Energy Specialist with a focus on Power Systems Modeling to join our team in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in power systems engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field, with experience in electricity market modeling and analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and improve modeling infrastructure for electricity systems and markets
  • Conduct research and analysis on electricity market design, transmission planning, and renewable energy procurements
  • Apply finance and economic theory to develop innovative approaches to energy policy and market design
  • Communicate findings clearly through presentations and written work products
  • Work collaboratively with clients and colleagues to develop and implement analytical approaches
Requirements
  • Graduate degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g. power systems engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, mathematics, statistics)
  • Strong academic performance and applied research in power systems and modeling
  • Direct experience conducting electricity market modeling
  • Market knowledge and experience with US electricity markets, wholesale market operators, and energy and ancillary service market designs
  • Fluency in one or more programming languages (e.g. Python, R, Java)
  • Experience working with large data sets and dynamic data visualization platforms
What We Offer

The Brattle Group offers a competitive benefits package, base salary, and bonus program for eligible roles based on individual and firm performance. The anticipated base gross annual salary for this position in Washington, DC. is $124,080.
