About the Role

The Brattle Group is seeking a highly skilled Energy Modeling Specialist to join our team in Washington, DC. As an Energy Modeling Specialist, you will play a key role in developing and improving our electricity systems and market modeling capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Analytical Role: Supervise and conduct electricity systems and market modeling, developing and improving our modeling infrastructure.
  • Model Development: Develop leading-edge model features and execute modeling projects, including formulating policy or market design options for achieving decarbonization policy goals.
  • Project Management: Receive project management training and oversee modeling teams, conducting assessments for integrated resource plans and making policy recommendations.
  • Custom Software Development: Develop custom software tools and harness database automation to improve the efficiency of model development and results analysis.
Requirements
  • Education: A graduate degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g. power systems engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, mathematics, statistics) with strong academic performance and applied research in power systems and modeling.
  • Experience: An undergraduate degree in a quantitative discipline with two years of job experience in power systems and markets modeling, or equivalent experience.
  • Skills: Direct experience conducting electricity market modeling, market knowledge, fluency in one or more programming languages, experience working with large data sets, and experience working with or developing dynamic data visualization platforms.
