Safety Compliance Specialist

The Safety Compliance Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining the safety standards and regulatory adherence of all organizational vehicles, tools, personnel, and subcontractors. This position involves facilitating driver recruitment, onboarding, and ensuring alignment with both federal and state safety regulations.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Establish communication and coordinate all necessary assessments for the pre-employment process.
  • Designate start dates, oversee unit number allocations, and manage training for new hires.
  • Participate in corporate events, transportation expos, and CDL training institutions for recruitment initiatives.
  • Monitor and manage all Learning Management System (LMS) training assignments and Driver Qualification records for tracking and development.
  • Serve as the primary contact for reporting and support.
  • Provide cross-departmental assistance as required.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent educational background.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management capabilities.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in transportation, safety, or regulatory compliance.
  • Understanding of federal and state safety regulations pertaining to FMCSA, DOT, and OSHA.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) and onboard telematics systems.

Work Environment:

  • Office setting with physical demands including prolonged periods of sitting and computer usage.
  • Candidate should be capable of lifting up to 25 pounds and utilizing standard office equipment.

Operational Hours:

  • Standard weekday business hours with occasional on-call responsibilities.
