Position Summary
Oversee and execute procurement strategies for various significant investment initiatives. Serve as a sourcing authority, adhering to established protocols for conducting tender processes in accordance with Best Procurement Practices. Ensure the procurement of high-quality products and services at optimal prices through effective negotiation and contract management with selected vendors. Act as a communication conduit between Investment, Engineering, and Sourcing (IES) and project stakeholders, maintaining a comprehensive perspective while addressing local needs. Identify avenues for operational enhancements and foster consensus among stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Manage procurement functions for multiple major projects, including supplier selection in collaboration with category managers, executing tender processes, bid clarification, evaluation, and contract negotiations.Establish and lead cross-functional teams in sourcing activities to identify, negotiate, and secure preferred supplier contracts and agreements.Collaborate with Project Managers and technical experts to ensure optimal supplier contracts and successful project delivery.Guarantee compliance with all sourcing and supplier-related activities according to company standards and regulations.Balance business and project objectives concerning sustainability, risk assessment, and deliverables in a complex environment.Develop procurement strategies for Investment Projects.Facilitate coordination during crisis management to mitigate risks.Act as a liaison between business units and suppliers to ensure alignment with business goals.Engage with Line of Business to illustrate how sourcing and procurement can support overall business strategies.Communicate effectively with various stakeholders to gain consensus on strategic initiatives.Support the internationalization process of IES by enhancing local staff capabilities in professional procurement.Analyze and develop business opportunities and procurement strategies, ensuring stakeholder buy-in at all levels.Continuously identify and realize potential savings and benefits.Contribute to the improvement of departmental tools, systems, and processes.Build and maintain collaborative relationships within and outside the organization to achieve key business objectives.Consider non-financial objectives in sourcing decisions, such as sustainability and responsible sourcing.Promote supplier diversity and inclusion in all sourcing initiatives.Collaborate with other procurement teams to establish company-wide systems and processes for informed sourcing decisions.Explore new tools and methodologies for optimizing global processes and supplier relationships.Support the development of the IES supplier base.Encourage a positive, innovative, and cooperative atmosphere within the department.Adhere to all safety and environmental regulations in performing duties.Other responsibilities as assigned.Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Engineering, Business, Finance, Procurement, or a related field from an accredited institution.A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in procurement or project management for large capital investment projects.Experience in procurement management across North America and internationally is preferred.Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a track record of leading project development and implementation.Strong knowledge of strategic procurement practices and their application in acquiring goods and services.Experience in developing procurement tools and strategies is advantageous.Proven ability to navigate complex projects and overcome challenges.Excellent communication and presentation skills.Ability to develop strategic sourcing plans based on market dynamics and business needs.Strong analytical skills with experience in addressing complex issues.Solid project management skills, including planning, problem-solving, and team management.Ability to prioritize and coordinate activities for optimal resource utilization.Ability to manage multiple tasks and develop action plans to meet targets.BioSpace, Inc. is committed to fostering an inclusive workplace that values diversity and equality.
