Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the defined scope, budget, and schedule for assigned tasks.
  • Engage in all stages of capital projects: planning, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
  • Design low voltage power distribution systems and motor control solutions.
  • Select and size instrumentation in accordance with P&IDs.
  • Choose control system hardware adhering to site standards.
  • Prepare equipment specifications and bid documentation.
  • Conduct vendor evaluations, monitor progress, and participate in factory acceptance testing.
  • Supervise field contractors during construction to ensure adherence to safety, quality, and timelines.
  • Provide timely responses to contractor inquiries during construction phases.
  • Execute equipment start-up, develop commissioning protocols, and prepare turnover documentation.
  • Create single line diagrams, motor control schematics, and loop sheets.
  • Size electrical components in compliance with NFPA 70 standards.
  • Modify existing specifications or develop new ones to align with project requirements.
  • Coordinate with various disciplines throughout the design, construction, and start-up phases.
  • Provide initial configuration settings for Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and Motor Starters.
  • Communicate effectively within the area of responsibility.
  • Utilize problem-solving skills to address challenges and support project needs.
  • Foster a collaborative environment that encourages teamwork.
  • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GxP) including compliance, change control, quality oversight, and validation.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field (Electrical preferred).
  • Professional registration and/or certifications as appropriate - PE License in NC preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, preferably in the Biotech, Pharmaceutical, or Chemical sectors.
Travel Requirements:
  • Occasional international travel may be necessary.
