Position Summary
The role involves overseeing the selection process for contractors and vendors. You will ensure the procurement of high-quality goods and services at optimal prices by negotiating and managing contracts and relationships with chosen suppliers. Additionally, you will spearhead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance sourcing practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Guarantee contract coverage for essential services and products
- Oversee the commercial aspects of contracts, ensuring alignment with legal, investment, engineering, and sourcing teams
- Negotiate supplier agreements and monitor compliance
- Ensure proper storage of contracts within the designated systems
- Benchmark operational costs against industry standards during the RFQ process
- Manage and evaluate supplier performance and adherence to established agreements
- Identify and pursue cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality and service
- Support investment projects by analyzing procurement alternatives
- Promote supplier diversity by including diverse suppliers in sourcing initiatives
- Assist with administrative tasks as required
- Coordinate sourcing activities with relevant functions for assigned commodities
- Explore new tools and methodologies to optimize global processes and supplier relationships
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Update and enhance departmental procedures in accordance with cGMP standards
- Adhere to all safety and environmental regulations in performing duties
- Execute additional responsibilities as assigned
Ability to work in an open office environment with potential distractions. Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time, subject to change based on role requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in economics, engineering, business, finance, procurement, accounting, or a related field from an accredited institution
- A minimum of five years of experience in procurement or project management, particularly in capital investment projects
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry or other regulated sectors is preferred
- Knowledge of strategic procurement practices and their application in acquiring equipment and services
- Experience in developing procurement tools and templates is advantageous
- Strong negotiation and contracting skills are essential
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong interpersonal skills with a solid understanding of quality, time, and stakeholder management
- Able to formulate and manage action plans to meet objectives
