The Account Representative is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all submissions for maximum reimbursement. This includes timely and accurate posting of all payments and adjustments, as well as following appropriate procedures/workflows depending on EHR. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and be able to effectively liaise with patients, insurance companies, and office staff.
Key Responsibilities- Liaise with patients to resolve billing questions and concerns
- Advocate for patients when claims are not paid properly
- Manage all insurance plans and ensure accurate processing of claims and denials
- Provide billing education to staff and providers
- Review and respond to revenue cycle reports as necessary
- Communicate effectively with co-workers, insurance companies, management, and physician office staff
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Prior billing experience and knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
