About this role:
The Account Representative plays a vital part in the revenue cycle process, ensuring accurate and timely submissions for maximum reimbursement. This role involves a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to navigate complex billing procedures.
Key responsibilities:
- Liaise with patients to address billing questions and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
- Advocate for patients when claims are not paid properly, working closely with insurance companies to resolve issues efficiently.
- Manage insurance plans requiring authorizations or referrals, providing billing education to staff and providers as needed.
- Process letters of medical necessity, record requests from insurance companies, and review denials and communications from MCX.
- Run and review revenue cycle reports, communicating trends and problems with payers to ensure optimal reimbursement.
- Record all transactions accurately and maintain detailed logs for financial review.
Requirements:
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Prior billing experience and knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
A successful Account Representative will:
- Be knowledgeable about billing rules and procedures for various payers.
- Be able to detect and report trends, account leads, and management.
- Prepared bank deposits and assist with clinical insurance requirements.
- Post medical record request fees and maintain accurate records.
- Attend revenue cycle meetings, front-end meetings, and billing and coding inservices.
This role is ideal for individuals who:
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
- Are detail-oriented and able to work accurately with minimal supervision.
- Value excellent communication and teamwork skills.
