Job Summary

Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program (BHCHP) is seeking part-time and full-time Respite Care Specialists to work day and evening hours at our medical respite facility. The ideal candidate will provide clinical support services to patients and assist the healthcare team in delivering high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care and support services, including vital sign collection, patient transfers, and personal hygiene assistance.
  • Assist healthcare professionals with complex treatments, procedures, and examinations.
  • Collect and process patient data, including laboratory specimens and vital signs.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including equipment logs and inventory management.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure effective patient care and facility operations.
Requirements
  • Commonwealth of Massachusetts EMT Certification
  • Minimum of 2 years EMT or paramedic experience strongly preferred
  • Strong assessment skills and understanding of substance use disorder and behavioral health issues
  • Interest and experience working with underserved populations
  • Experience with sedating medications and polysubstance use
