Job Overview:


Acts as the primary overseer of maintenance and facilities management personnel within the designated area, ensuring optimal upkeep, repair, functionality, and efficiency of all facility assets.

Collaborates closely with a Facilities Manager to assign, organize, and supervise compliant and effective daily operations.
Scope of Responsibilities

This role is pivotal in supporting the Facilities Manager II, with accountability for medium-sized facility operations regarding square footage.

The position entails providing daily guidance and oversight for building operations and maintenance teams across hospitals, clinics, and additional support spaces within Intermountain Healthcare.

The nature of the work and the number of assigned staff may fluctuate.
Key Responsibilities

Integrates effective maintenance practices into daily facility operations by working in partnership with facility operations leaders, caregivers, facilities staff, and Corporate Construction, Capital Planning, and Compliance departments.

Focuses on executing strategies, projects, and programs that foster safety, collaboration, and teamwork among employees and stakeholders.
Implements centrally developed operational best practices, including compliance with regulatory agencies.

Coordinates with stakeholders during the planning and execution of facility operations to ensure safety, compliance, and business continuity.

Assists in developing operational budgets for facility enhancements and maintenance.
Leads teams to embrace and implement best practices aimed at continuous improvement.

Stays informed about industry best practices and emerging technologies, serving as a subject matter expert and resource for others, providing guidance on best practices and process enhancements.

Addresses inquiries from key stakeholders regarding services and products delivered, developing methods to resolve conflicts effectively.

May represent the facility at local meetings and events, discussing relevant objectives and plans.

Consults with facilities leadership on matters related to facility growth and service line expansions impacting operations.
Collaborates with the Facilities Manager to establish staffing best practices, minimum job competencies, education, and delineation of roles and responsibilities.

Provides supervisory oversight to ensure quality, safety, compliance, and adherence to standards, safeguarding the value of Intermountain's capital facilities through effective maintenance performance.

Implements site policies and procedures, along with product and equipment standardization, to achieve compliance and operational efficiencies.
Minimum Qualifications:
Three years of experience in facilities maintenance.
Proven communication skills with the ability to influence others in a professional setting.
Demonstrated capability to manage multiple tasks and lead successful teams.
Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet, internet, email, and maintenance management software.
Experience in a role requiring effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Facility Management, Construction Management, or a related field.
Licensure or Certification in a trade.
Experience in facilities maintenance within a healthcare environment.

Familiarity with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and Joint Commission requirements regarding the Environment of Care.

Supervisory experience.
Experience in budget management.

Physical Requirements:
Engage with others requiring effective communication of information.
Operate computers, telephones, and office equipment, necessitating dexterity and hand movement.
Ability to see and read computer screens and documents.
Capable of remaining seated or standing for extended periods while performing work on a computer or other equipment.
Ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment for facility projects, including climbing, squatting, and kneeling to access work areas. Capable of pulling and pushing carts or equipment necessary for projects.
