Position Overview

The Human Resources Specialist will be responsible for executing daily operations within the HR department for the designated business unit. This role is essential in maintaining compliance with company policies and supporting HR leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with HR colleagues and local management to facilitate recruitment processes, including scheduling interviews and managing applicant tracking systems.
  • Conduct thorough background checks and verify employee eligibility.
  • Perform employment verification tasks.
  • Support the HR team in onboarding new hires and implementing employee recognition initiatives.
  • Manage daily HR administrative duties, including employee documentation, training and development, benefits assistance, leave management, and attendance tracking.
  • Act as a liaison between operational teams and HR, ensuring effective communication.
  • Provide timely updates and critical information regarding HR matters to all staff.
  • Address employment-related inquiries from candidates, employees, and supervisors, escalating complex issues to appropriate HR personnel.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, regularly reviewing policies for compliance.
  • Stay informed on trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and advancements in human resources and employment law.
  • Assist in managing performance evaluations.
  • Support investigations related to employee disciplinary actions.
  • Facilitate compliance and tracking of safety training.
  • Oversee recruitment, referral, and sign-on bonus initiatives.
  • Promote Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging efforts.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a human resources role is required.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification is advantageous.
