Wealth Management Business Development Officer

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Wealth Management Business Development Officer to join our team at Stock Yards Bank & Trust. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing referral opportunities from retail and commercial bank partners and centers of influence, combined with direct prospecting activity sourced from your personal and professional networks.
Key Responsibilities- Business Development and Prospecting
- Conduct research on new clients, prospects, and centers of influence to generate leads and develop prospects.
- Organize meetings with prospects and identify suitable partners to introduce at initial meetings.
- Engage in comprehensive financial planning to articulate the capabilities, services, and value proposition of Stock Yards Bank & Trust to prospective clients.
- Maintain current knowledge of a full range of investment services and trust-oriented services.
- Utilize a CRM system to update, maintain, and track prospect data.
- Networking
- Build a valued personal and corporate profile in the community.
- Cultivate professional and personal networks to identify and develop prospective new referral relationships.
- Become a trusted advisor and establish strong relationships with clients and partners.
- Participate in board involvement and contribute to the advancement of the team, office, and department capabilities.
- Client Service
- Assess a prospect's current financial situation and assist in identifying appropriate solutions to help prospective clients attain their wealth objectives.
- Utilize financial planning tools to provide expert advice and guidance.
- Organize post-meeting de-briefs and identify appropriate next steps.
- Attend client meetings, as needed, to ensure the continuity of the relationship and client confidence.
- Expand existing client relationships and identify opportunities for growth.
- Team Building
- Engage actively in department-specific and bank-wide initiatives to expand capabilities, create solutions, and improve client experience.
- Contribute to the advancement of the team, office, and department capabilities.
- Perform other duties as required by the position.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Advanced degree or professional certification such as CFP, CFTA, CFA, CIMA strongly preferred.
- Proven track record of progressive wealth or investment management development experience and/or significant business development or management experience.
- Minimum of five years' experience required.
- Analytical and sales skills to relate individual client asset situations to specific capabilities, services, and Stock Yards Bank value proposition.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills and an ability to self-source.
- Ability to be a self-starter, with solid organizational skills and process.
