Job Summary:

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team in Vacaville, California. As a key member of our Diagnostic Imaging department, you will be responsible for preparing, measuring, and administering radiopharmaceuticals in diagnostic and therapeutic studies. Your expertise will ensure the optimal diagnostic quality of patient care, and you may also direct and check the work of other Nuclear Medicine Technologists.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Perform diagnostic studies on patients, using scanners or scintillation cameras to detect radiation emitted and produce images of organs on photographic film.
  • Prepare stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials, calculate doses, and administer doses under the supervision of a physician.
  • Measure radioactivity using Geiger counters, scalers, and scintillation detectors, and calibrate equipment.
  • Follow radiation safety techniques for the use and disposal of radioactive materials.
  • Direct and check the work of other Nuclear Medicine Technologists.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum of three years continuous recent experience in nuclear medicine.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform all procedures and processes as determined by the employer.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and present information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations.
