Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist II to join our team at Kaiser Permanente in Vacaville, California. As a key member of our Diagnostic Imaging department, you will play a critical role in preparing, measuring, and administering radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic studies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic studies on patients using scanners or scintillation cameras to detect radiation emitted and produce images of organs on photographic film.
  • Prepare stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials, calculate doses, and administer doses under the supervision of a physician.
  • Measure radioactivity using Geiger counters, scalers, and scintillation detectors, and calibrate equipment.
  • Follow radiation safety techniques for the use and disposal of radioactive materials.
  • Direct and check the work of other Nuclear Medicine Technologists as needed.
Requirements
  • Minimum of three years of continuous recent experience in nuclear medicine.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform all procedures and processes as determined by the employer.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, and to write simple correspondence.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a Labor Management Partnership environment.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other incumbents of the organization.
