Job Summary

The Assistant General Manager at MCR Hotels plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our hotels. As a key member of our management team, you will assist the General Manager in maintaining high levels of guest satisfaction, efficient hotel operations, and achieving profitability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hotel Operations: Assist the General Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the hotel, including supervising and supporting various departments such as Guest Services, Food & Beverage, Engineering, Accounting, Sales, and Housekeeping.
  • Leadership Development: Assist in the development of managerial and hourly employees through the implementation of corporate and brand training programs.
  • Service Standards: Ensure that all levels of service are maintained in accordance with directives given by regional leadership.
  • Manager on Duty: Participate in required Manager on Duty coverage as scheduled.
  • Guest and Employee Interaction: Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist the General Manager with the creation of financial reports as required by MCR Hotels.
  • Training and Development: Ensure that training in service standards is taking place in each department using the steps to effective training.
  • Public Area Presence: Be in the public areas during peak times, greeting guests and helping as needed.
Requirements
  • Positive Attitude: Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Leadership Experience: Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
  • Communication Skills: Effective at listening to, understanding, clarifying, and resolving the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests.
  • Financial Acumen: Understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Windows operating systems, company-approved spreadsheets, and word processing.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED.
  • Desire to Serve: Desire to serve all guests.
