Administrative Support Specialist

Job Summary
Auburn University at Montgomery is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Administrative Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our department, ensuring the smooth operation of our office, and contributing to the success of our programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to our department, including financial reconciliation, procurement, and record-keeping.
- Coordinate and complete special or ongoing projects and tasks, such as processing student and employee records, preparing reports, and tracking student records.
- Code, tabulate, and assemble fiscal, statistical, and related data, and collect and post information into computer or manual filing systems.
- Receive and respond to office visitors and telephone calls, and provide general administrative support to our staff.
- Coordinate the use of departmental computer systems and enter data, type standard forms, letters, and other documents.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent and three years of general office experience.
- Knowledge of basic word processing software and the ability to operate standard PC software applications.
- Knowledge of applicable university policies and procedures, general office procedures, and assigned department forms, rules, etc.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, and the ability to review materials and identify discrepancies or mistakes.
